1. Wall-papered house
Take a plain "mylittlehouse" cottage. Buy 6 m2 of stick-on wallpaper ( even better if in a variety of colours ), and cover the house in it. You can make it look high-tech with single-coloured, metallic wallpaper. This is ideal for a spaceship.
2. Paperstrip house
Take a plain "mylittlehouse" cottage. Buy colourful A4 sized sheets. The more colourful, the jollier. Lay the sheets on the floor, and cut them into strips, leaving about 5 cm-s at the top. Glue the uncut parts on the house with paperglue. More strips make the house more decorative. When you've finished glueing, crumple the stripes a bit, so they stick out.
Tip: place 5-6 sheets on one another, and cut with a craft knife. ( only recommended for adults )
3. Colour painted
Take an outlined "mylittlehouse" cottage. You can paint it with different colours of distemper, and you can create shades your kids as you go along . It's easy to do because of the predrawn patterns.
4. Traffic house
Take a plain "mylittlehouse" cottage. Paint on it railways, cars, rivers, lakes with distemper. Tip: it's easier if you predraw it with pencil. After that you only need to colour it along the pencil-line. You can also use crayon or felt-tip pen. Try glueing barriers, ships and planes with Bluetech. It's great fun to play on it with cars and trains.
5. Wrapping paper house
Take a plain "mylittlehouse" cottage. It's a great opportunity to make use of any leftover wrapping paper. Unused wrapping paper can be found in all households. Cut the paper to the size of the house, or just the size of the window or door, and stick it on the house with paperglue. It can be very decorative, and it is so quick and simple to make.
6. Patterned house
Take a plain "mylittlehouse" cottage. Draw simple patterns on a thin cardboard box (e.g. pizza box), like hearts, flowers, trains, fish, clouds, or stars. Cut out the pattern. Put aside the cut out part, you'll make use of it later. Place the remaining cardboard on the side of the house with your kids, and all you need to do is to colour the holes with different kinds of paint or crayon. If you use paint, don't forget to wipe the pattern before you use a different colour, otherwise you'll stain the next pattern.
You can just paint a simple flower house, or a simple train house, it's up to you. Use a different colour for the center of the flower.
Paint the cut out pattern too. Glued onto a wooden stick, it can be used as a toy or as a present.
7. Gingerbread house
Take a plain "mylittlehouse" cottage. Buy the cheapest sponge fingers, macaroon or any kind of colourful sweets. Glue the sweets on to the house. You can make a real fairy tale house for your kids.
8. Christmas house
Take a plain "mylittlehouse" cottage. Use Christmas lights and decoration. Stick them on the house with sellotape or Bluetech. You can also decorate it with twigs of your Christmas tree.
You can create a good atmosphere with this easy-to-make Christmas house, which could be the highlight of your room.
9. Birthday house
Surprise your kids on their birthday with a real birthday cottage.
Take a plain "mylittlehouse" cottage. Cut cake slices out of colourful paper and glue them on the house. Use cotton wool as whipped cream. Glue some bright coloured balloons on the house, too. You can also use colourful straws, paper plates, paper cups and fan shaped colourful paper. This is every birthday kid's dream.
10. Baby clothes house
Take a plain "mylittlehouse" cottage. Take your kids baby clothes, socks, and some cuddly toys. Tie a string across the top of the house, and hang the colourful clothes and toys with clothes pegs. Simple and fun. You can also draw or paint stick figures on the house. Stick a giftbag on the house and place a teddybear in it. A jolly, easy-to-make cottage.
11. Hungarian style house
Take a plain "mylittlehouse" cottage. Make patterns out of old sponge. Print the patterns on the house with paint. This will need some skill to do. Place grandma's laces on the top, paprika and onionstrings on the side, and you'll feel like you're at an open air museum!
12. Interior painting
All your houses can be painted on the inside, you can have a complete room inside, bookshelves with books, chest of drawers with flowers, and paintings on the wall. You can easily make such a great little nook that your kids won't want to come out of!
How durable is a Mylittlehouse?
Made of the toughest existing cardboard, it has a high weight-bearing capacity. Paperfurniture is made of this material for years now.
From what age is it recommended?
Running in and out of the house is fun for every kid over 2 years. Glueing can be started any time with parental guidance. Painting the house is recommended from the age of 4, when your kids are capable of drawing lines, and can draw recognizeable shapes.
